Worries on Short Days
飞光飞光，劝尔一杯酒。
Flowing sand, toast you a cup of spirit.
吾不识青天高，黄地厚。
I don’t know blue sky highs, yellow ground thicks.
唯见月寒日暖，来煎人寿。
Only see cold moon and hot sun, drying men’s ages.
食熊则肥，食蛙则瘦。
Eat bears then fat, eat frogs then lean.
神君何在？太一安有？
Where are the deities? Where be the Ultimate One?
天东有若木，下置衔烛龙。
East of sky is the Soft Tree, under it is the Candle Dragon.
吾将斩龙足，嚼龙肉，
使之朝不得回，夜不得伏。
I will chop dragon feet, chew dragon meat,
make it not return in the days, not hide at nights.
自然老者不死，少者不哭。
So that olds don’t die, youngs don’t cry.
何为服黄金、吞白玉？
Why bother drinking gold, swallowing jades?
谁似任公子，云中骑碧驴？
Who’s like Ren the Great, riding donkey in the clouds?
刘彻茂陵多滞骨，嬴政梓棺费鲍鱼。
